LATIN STREET travels the musical spectrum from Cuban Son, Cha Cha Cha, Mambo, Bolero and Salsa to Latin Jazz, Blues, R&B, Soul and Jazz Standards among others. Integrated by talented musicians, this high energy group electrifies audiences everywhere. Led by the internationally and critically acclaimed Mireya Escalante and Cuban musician Mario del Monte Jr. this original band has performed in festivals all over the world.

This immensely talented family introduces students to a range of Afro-Cuban rhythms and drumming, chants, songs and dance through highly interactive performance as a trio or up to the full 8-piece Latin Street Band.

5-day Cuban Percussion Music & Movement
4-8, 9-12

Highlighting the roots and influences of Afro-Cuban music on contemporary music especially the evolution of jazz, students experiment and create rhythms based on traditional Afro-Cuban patterns and movement culminating in a student showcase.
